Hi, my name is Karen Mercure and I have been a full time Realtor since 1985, and long time volunteer and Past President of the Blackstone Valley Chamber of Commerce. I make an effort to be as educated in my field as possible in order to provide informed professional advice, and deliver personalized friendy service to all customers, clients, and fellow agents who need assistance.
I started my real estate career selling condominiums and leasing commercial space in the Blackstone Valley in 1985, but soon shifted to a position as Sales & Marketing Manager for a local builder. Over the next 7 years I was involved in the sale of over 300 new homes.
My next career move was to a small real estate brokerage firm where I encountered all manner of real estate transactions. Buyer Agency was becoming popular, Title V was the latest headache, and the fax machine was the latest miracle. After 7 years flew by, In 1999, I decided to learn as much as possible about the large, national real estate firms so I affiliated my license with the most successful REMAX office in our area. This is where I worked through the real estate boom years from 1999-2008 and earned status achievements such as Platinum Club and Hall of Fame. The REMAX model allows independent agents to develop their own business while offering the umbrella of a national name, a shared office, and business development tools for a fee. It's a great system when business is plentiful. While at REMAX my son Michael joined me for a few years and we formed The Mercure Group team. It became the start of the personal branding that carries on to this day.
By 2008 it was clear that the real estate bubble had burst for good and I decided it was time to strike out on my own and put the REMAX share of my income to better use for my clients. I started The Mercure Group, Inc and offered other experienced agents the opportunity to affiliate using a virtual office model and share expenses so we could all be effecient in todays business climate. Today three other agents are affiliated...George Lamothe, Peter Neslusan, and Stella Youngsaye..the Blackstone Valley Team, working out of an office at Sutton Plaza on Rt 146 in Sutton. (2nd floor near the Post Office end of the building)
Located in South Worcester County, we are in an area prime for growth and investment. Commuting is a snap since the Valley is connected to the Massachusetts Turnpike at Rt 146, and commuter rail is available in Grafton. For multi-career families we are in a location central to three state capitals: Boston, Providence and Hartford. Even with recent growth, there is still plenty of green open space and fresh air. Quality of life and a sense of heritage are dear to us, and are vigorously protected.
Practicing both Buyer and Seller Agency, we specialize in residential sales and new construction. We market properties for homeowners and builders, but are also very effective as Buyer's Agents, especially for those clients looking to build a home: designing floorplans, negotiating specifications, and keeping you on track during the building process. I personally hold the designations of GRI (Graduate Realtor Institute), CBR (Certified Buyer Representative), CRS (Council of Residential Specialists), SRES (Senior Real Estate Specialist), LMC (Loss Mitigation Certificate) and I am a member of Woman's Council of Realtors. We are members of the Worcester Regional Association of Realtors, Massachusetts Association of Realtors and the National Association of Realtors, and we list our clients homes in MLSPIN Multiple Listing Service own zip code spots in Sutton, Douglas, and Grafton on the Realtor.com website. I'm still volunteering at the Chamber of Commerce and was just awarded "Best of Show" for our booth at the 12th Annual Home & Business Expo held on March 6, 2010.
